Newsletters - Unconditional Education & i3
In November, 2013, Seneca Family of Agencies, in partnership with Education for Change, Lighthouse Community Charter School, and San Francisco Unified School District, was awarded a $3,000,000 Investing In Innovations (i3) grant from the U.S. Department of Education. This award supports the implementation of the Unconditional Education model in five Oakland Schools and two schools in San Francisco.
This highly competitive grant program provides funding to agencies with a record of improving student achievement and attainment in order to expand and develop innovative practices that can serve as models of best practice and be taken to national scale based on demonstrated success. We are excited at the opportunity to expand and to thoroughly evaluate the impact of the Unconditional Education model through this grant funding. We have created this quarterly newsletter, “Inside Innovation,” to update our valued partners and stakeholders in the field of education on the progress of this project.
