School Spotlight: Flynn Elementary

Flynn Elementary

By Jonathan Tugbenyoh

Boldly stepping into their first year of partnership with Seneca, Flynn Elementary in San Francisco has accomplished incredible feats this year. They launched their Climate Team with a whopping 13 team members.

Led by their incredible UE Coach, Jazmine Morales Rodriguez, the group is split into three powerhouse subcommittees: Sense of Community, Emotional Regulation, and Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports.

They have done everything from organize staff team-builders to overhaul the school discipline system. While Flynn has always been comprised of dedicated and talented adults who go above and beyond for their students, they are approaching the work with renewed focus and organization.

After Jazmine led powerful workshops and introduced the staff to a few behavioral planning tools, the team sprang into action and began utilizing the frameworks to support the students with the highest needs. Our talented clinician, Alyssa Lew, has been able to provide therapeutic support to these students and partner with the Flynn staff to tailor their interventions.

Like an expert conductor, Jazmine is consistently working behind the scenes to ensure that the work at each tier connects and forms a coherent system of interventions. If the Flynn community can achieve all of this in year one, what will they be able to accomplish in year two? We cannot WAIT to find out!
