Seneca Services Nipfc Overview

Overview

The mission of the National Institute for Permanent Family Connectedness (NIPFC) is to advance permanency for all children and youth. Find more information on the NIPFC website about their training programs, practice tools, and system reform initiatives that help professionals strengthen family connections.

Approach

Family of Network Building

NIPFC’s Family Network Building (FNB) approach emphasizes creating active, supportive family networks that assist youth beyond government care. It advances child welfare reform by shifting the focus from protecting children from their families to a focus on supporting families to keep their children safe and healthy.

NIPFC provides training, coaching, and implementation support to the staff of child welfare, juvenile justice, and mental health organizations, as well as court systems and community partners. Training series are customizable and can include one-on-one or group consultation sessions on implementation and coaching for supervisors, leadership, and practitioners. NIPFC also offers SenecaSearch: customized internet search services to help identify relatives and natural supports for children and youth.
