Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children Services

Seneca Services Csec Services

Overview

Seneca provides trauma-informed, client-centered support to youth impacted by commercial sexual exploitation. Through these programs, we work to ensure young people and their families feel safe, build lasting support networks, and are empowered to move forward in their healing journeys.

Approach

Seneca equips partnering professionals with the knowledge and skills they need to offer preventative and protective resources to youth who are current or potential victims of Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children (CSEC). Our direct services for young people may integrate peer partners who are also survivors of CSEC and utilize a harm reduction and Stages of Change approach to meet each person where they are. Our services are focused on building and sustaining the capacity of families, professionals, and systems to recognize and address the growing problem of CSEC through a range of direct services and training.

  • Supportive Services: Direct support and engagement for young people involved with or at risk of CSEC.
  • Education & Skill Development: Providing knowledge and skills to help youth avoid exploitation, offering training for professionals to more effectively recognize CSEC signs and risk factors, and offering clinical training for community partners.
  • Intervention & Referrals: Offering short-term intervention and connecting youth to necessary services and resources.
