Overview
Seneca’s continuum of care includes a network of nonpublic schools (NPS) throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. A student can be referred to our schools by their special education team to receive therapeutic and academic services in a small, supportive classroom setting. Seneca’s goal is to create school environments filled with the joy of learning. To achieve this, our schools draw out students’ strengths and teach them strategies to cope with varied and significant challenges, empowering them to succeed within this setting and beyond.
Approach
Seneca’s nonpublic school programs deliver high-quality education with a culturally responsive lens. They also provide highly integrated therapeutic and special education services to students who have significant mental health and behavioral health needs. Our NPS programs are accredited and meet all state academic standards. Learn more about each of our unique NPS programs on each school’s website:

Get Started
Seneca’s nonpublic schools are tuition-free, special education settings operating in concert with students’ local schools and districts. Only district staff may refer students to a Seneca nonpublic school, and all referrals occur through the Individualized Education Program (IEP) process.
If you are interested in learning more about nonpublic school placements, please contact the Seneca school nearest you or your child’s current special education case manager. You can also send an email to [email protected] for more information.
