How Seneca’s Kaiser Wraparound Program is Making an Impact

Kaiser wraparound

At Seneca, we believe youth and families should take an active role in designing their own care plans. After all – who understands their unique needs better than themselves? One of the ways we achieve this is through our Wraparound program

Wraparound is team-based, personalized support for young people and their families who are experiencing complex challenges that put those youth at risk of out-of-home care or disruption to their living situation. Using a trauma-informed lens and culturally competent care, we collaborate with youth, families, supportive friends, and providers to help reach specific goals. We can help by:

  • Supporting families in staying safely together in their homes.
  • Preventing and reducing the need for ER visits and hospitalizations.
  • Working with a family to prepare for a young person to transition home.

Seneca delivers Wraparound for more than 1,000 families and children each year across California and Washington. One of the ways we reach people is through Medicaid and a robust partnership with Kaiser Permanente, providing Wraparound services for those insured by Kaiser.

In 2025, our Kaiser Wraparound program continued to grow and reach new milestones. This included:

  • Launching services in San Francisco, making it our 8th operating region.
  • Expanding within our current regions – up to 40 slots in the East Bay and the Diablo Service Area (Contra Costa County), 24 slots in the Greater Southern Alameda Area, and 16 slots in San Mateo.
  • Actively serving 208 clients across the Bay Area (now among the largest of all Seneca Wraparound programs).
  • Successfully integrating Rapid Response into Kaiser Wraparound, effectively stabilizing crisis situations to keep kids safe at home.
  • Adding Family Partner roles to ensure a staff member with lived experience helps treatment stay family-focused.

As one Wraparound client shared: “This is a wonderful program, and I wish all struggling teens could have something like this for however long it takes.”

We are proud of this program’s growth in 2025, and we hope to reach even more youth in families this year!
