Partial Hospitalization Program (STEP)

Seneca Services Step Overview

Overview

Seneca’s STEP (Skills Transitions Exploration Progress) Program supports youth ages 12 to 17 who are navigating challenges with their mood, emotions, or mental health. Designed as an intensive, short-term therapeutic setting, STEP helps young people regain stability, confidence, and hope.

Approach

The goal of STEP is to support young people with stabilizing and reintegrating into school and home with lower levels of outpatient mental health treatment. Our five program locations throughout the San Francisco Bay Area serve up to 10 youth at each site at a time. Programs typically run for an average of 15 days, with daily therapeutic groups provided Monday through Friday.
