Meet the ERMHS Team!

The Mosaic/Pathways Program partners with various school districts across Alameda County to support students’ mental health and academic success. One of our partnerships is with the San Lorenzo Unified School District (SLZUSD), where our team provides Educationally Related Mental Health Services (ERMHS) to students receiving special education services and those with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).

ERMHS is a Tier 3 intervention that includes individual therapy, psychosocial rehabilitation, and collaboration with each student’s IEP team. This service aims to increase students’ emotional well-being, behavioral functioning, and academic achievement.

As the Mosaic/Pathways Program continues to grow, we are excited to introduce the ERMHS team serving SLZUSD for the 2025-26 school year! This year, our team consists of five dedicated clinicians:

Karla Arredondo Blog

Karla is now entering her fourth school year at SLZUSD as an ERMHS Therapist. Karla is deeply passionate about supporting students’ emotional wellness and mental health. Her work with Seneca and SLZUSD has given her the opportunity to make a difference. In her free time, Karla enjoys exploring local coffee shops, spending time with her dog, doing Zumba, and watching horror movies.

Ashley Longares Blog

Ashley is returning for her third year as an ERMHS therapist. She has a master’s degree from CSU East Bay in Counseling, with a Marriage and Family Therapy concentration. She is excited to continue to support students, and their families achieve their goals to build and reinforce students’ well-being. Ashley likes spending time with her partner and pup, playing soccer, hiking, and reading.

Lexi Abreu Blog

Lexi is looking forward to starting her second year as an ERMHS therapist. She grew up in Boulder, Colorado, and graduated with her master’s degree in social work from CSU East Bay. She has previous experience providing behavior management support in counseling enriched classrooms, as well as providing therapy and counseling services for youth of all ages. She is excited to work with SLZUSD to support students in reaching their social-emotional and academic goals.

Hua Wei Blog

Hua is thrilled to return to SLZUSD for her second year as an ERMHS Therapist. She holds a master’s degree in counseling psychology with an emphasis on Expressive Arts Therapy from CIIS. She has previous experience working with youth and their families, providing therapy and counseling to address their academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs. She approaches her work with an open and non-judgmental heart. Fun fact: she likes growing succulents.

Veronica Lan Blog

Veronica is excited to begin her first year as an ERMHS therapist. She graduated with a master’s degree in clinical psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pepperdine University. She has previous experience providing individual and group therapy as well as behavior management support in a non-public school setting for middle and high school students. She is looking forward to collaborating with SLZUSD and helping students and their families reach their goals and thrive!
