Ayla entered foster care at 8 years old, and moved from foster home to foster home until, at the age of 14, she moved into a group home.
Ayla’s social worker referred her to Seneca’s Wraparound program where our Family Finding specialist was committed to helping Ayla form meaningful relationships and build supportive connections.
Most people have social networks of around 150 people. They include our families and friends who we trust and count on. But youth in foster care often struggle to identify just ONE connection.
That’s where Family Finding comes in.
Our Family Finding specialist found Ayla’s biological father who, to everyone’s surprise, had no idea she existed. He immediately asked to meet her and suddenly, Ayla’s world changed forever.
She had someone who wanted to build a relationship with her. She had phone calls and letters.
Ayla had found family.
For Ayla, a search for relatives resulted in the creation of a lifelong bond with her biological father.
Seneca will support you through every step of your journey, no matter the challenges you face along the way. We make this promise to the youth and families we serve, and we have seen the seeds of this promise grow into exceptional outcomes. That is Unconditional Care.
